SRNCN Conference 2017
The annual Scottish Research Nurse & Coordinators Network (SRNCN) conference was held in Dundee on 17 March 2017, celebrating Clinical Research Nursing in Scotland. It was attended by 150 delegates from all over Scotland and some from further afield too.
A packed programme of events took place. This ranged from the enthusiastic keynote speech on #WhyWeDoResearch by Claire Whitehouse and Michael Keeling, to a Patient & Public Involvement talk by Allison Worth & PPI volunteer Sue Polson to three presentations from Research Nurses in Scotland on their involvement in clinical research. We even managed a Skype presentation from Meg McCabe in Boston, President of the International Association Of Clinical Research Nurses!
The conference culminated with the presentation of the Scottish Clinical Research Nurse of the Year Award for 2017! This year the recipient was Miranda Odam from the EMERGE research team in NHS Lothian, based in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
